Minorly Less Unmotivated!
Thanks to those of you who posted encouragement after my last entry. I did indeed send out the kits I needed to - and by kit I mean, CDs with business cards attached. Well, it's better than nothing!... ah, hyeh. (imagine minnesotan accent just there.)
I've got a gig this week and my focus lies with 2) finishing my newest song (inspired by a rainy place) b) polishing a Ben Folds cover c) possibly writing a new song in the next two days, also to be performed at the show. Next month I'm playing in GR, which will be a nice, how you say, *homecoming*, perhaps? moo-ha-ha. Man, I'm losing the formal edge here. But I have to be honest. I'm still no closer to a college tour than I was a month ago. At least I know what I need to do, and am being held electronically accountable by the four people who read this. Thanks, guys.

I'm holding you accountable darnit! Get it done Rachel! You are way too talented to not get something going. Though I am glad to hear that you have been less unmotivated, and a couple new songs? Cool. (better than I've done as of late)
But don't get apathetic. Stay on it. What seperates those who make it and those who don't (except in the case of the big pop idols who are just something to look at and not really talented), is what happens when you hit the wall. Do you climb it or do you go home?
And then before you know it, you're...livin in a van down by the river.
Okay, there's my motivational speech. Peace out.
"Actually, Morgan, we like to encourage Rachel in her songwriting aspirations."
I'm bringing a friend to Center Stage with what's-his-face, which we are calling "the Rachel Zylstra concert," and will still call it that even if you only sing one song. But don't. Sing more. Hey, kick all the other people offstage and sing for a few hours. Who cares about what's-his-face or those others? Not I.
If we bring our CDs, can we find you somewhere and get you to sign them? Because that would be cool. I got my Just One Second CD autographed, back in the day.... Hm. What would be the best kind of pen to sign a black CD, I wonder? If you can sign it, just recommend a pen and I'll pick it up. :)
hey Suzanne,
I will look forward to seeing you there! I will do what I can to have a black permanent marker handy - to sign the inside of the cd case. To sign on the black, I guess a silver marker would do? It's a thought.
